People from all around the world can communicate and stay in touch with the areas they're interested in. This can help with self-improvement.



Let's talk about the negative effects now. We naturally compare ourselves with others, and social media enhances this. Such a habit makes us feel insecure because we always see the perfect lives of other people. Another negative effect of social media is that it is highly addictive. People spend hours on social media, which not only affects their physical but also their mental health. It can ruin our sleep patterns, which are essential for everyday life. It is the root cause of depression and anxiety in many teenagers. People can cyberbully each other, and because of this cyberbullying, some people might harm themselves.
